Anna Stewart

I am a London/Cardiff based researcher and multimedia artist with a background in psychology research, working across immersive media, arts and culture, technology, and the environment.

My main interests lie in arts and culture, digital health and well-being, the environment and altered states of consciousness. I am particularly passionate about interdisciplinary projects that merge these fields to create meaningful and impactful approaches and initiatives that benefit both individuals and society.

As a researcher within the i2 Media team, I have worked with cultural organisations such as the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), Philharmonia, and Punchdrunk Enrichment on arts evaluation programs and research development. I have worked with media and technology organisations, including Ofcom and Costar on UX design and landscape research, as well as sustainable companies such as Bikeability and BreatheAir on behavioural change projects. I apply psychological tools (quant and qual methods) and creative research methods to explore how individuals engage with media, art, and their environment. Outside of my i2 role I have worked on creative research projects with local communities.

As an artist, I create visuals and soundscapes inspired by nature, curiosity, and fantasy, incorporating a playful and experimental approach into my work. I also love all things music, having a strong musical background; playing the drum kit, learning to produce and performing with South London Samba, an Afro-Brazilian band based in South East London...
